Start IIT JAM Preparation in Advance



IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.) is a national level entrance exam to post-graduate science programs offered by IITs and IISc.

IIT JAM exam is conducted in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematical Statistics these subjects require perfection on basic concepts. 

IIT JAM syllabus covered graduation syllabus and the question which are asked in the exam are related to graduation level. So, it’s better that candidates start preparation in advance for IIT JAM Exam.

If candidates start their preparation in advance, they can get enough time for the revision.


Candidates have to start preparing with a focused study plan:

1.     First focus on basics & complete syllabus.

2.     Then prepare for weak areas.

3.     And in last, practice mock test and do revision.


Before starting the preparation must be analyzed complete syllabus and aware from paper pattern of JAM Question Papers.


  • For Section A, there will be a negative marking of 1/3 mark for each question answered incorrectly for 1mark question and 2/3 marks for each incorrect question for two marks question.


  • Section B & C does not have any negative marking.

After completing M.Sc., they can apply for CSIR NET exam for PhD.

CSIR is an exam which checks the eligibility of the candidates to apply for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or Lectureship (LS). The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, conducts the Joint CSIR UGC NET Exam on bi-yearly basis, to churn out the best-in-house talent for future researchers and lecturers that can contribute their knowledge and skill to the education industry.


Eligibility Criteria for CSIR – 

Degrees Required (Any of the mentioned below)


  • M.Sc.
  • Integrated BS-MS
  • BS-4 Years
  • BE/B-Tech
  • B-Pharma
  • MBBS
  • Or an Equivalent Degree.


Percentage Required


  • For General and OBC Candidates – 55% Marks 
  • For ST/SC/PWD Candidates – 50% Marks
 
Age Criteria


  • Maximum Age – 28 years.
  • Age Relaxation – Up to 5 Years for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/female applicants.
