CSIR NET JRF 2020 Exam – Know the Details Here!








The National Testing Agency conducts the NET exam on behalf of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) on the bi-yearly basis. The exam is conducted for the posts of –

1.      Junior Research Fellow

2.      Assistant Professor

Candidates who want to make their career in Research and Lectureship field can apply for this exam.

CSIR NET JRF Eligibility 


To apply for CSIR NET JRF candidates need to fulfill the eligibility criteria which is decided by the CSIR.

CSIR NET Eligibility criteria is measured on the basis of two constraints i.e.

1.      Educational Qualification

2.      Age Limit


1.      Educational Qualification 

Degree Required – Candidates should have one of these qualifications which are given below to appear for CSIR NET JRF.

  • M.Sc.
  • Integrated BS-MS
  • BS -4 years
  • BE/B-Tech
  • B-Pharma
  • MBBS
  • Or an Equivalent Degree.

Percentage Required -

  • For General and OBC – 55% Aggregate  
  • For SC/ST/PwD Category – 50% Aggregate


2.      Age Criteria


Aspirants’ age must not more than 28 years. Up to 3 years' relaxation is provided to OBC category aspirants and 5 years age relaxation is provided to the SC/ST/PwD/female applicants.


Candidates who are suffering from disabilities other than OH, VH, HH as mentioned in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act, 2016 may also apply under PwD category and will also get the 5 years’ relaxation.



CSIR NET JRF Exam Pattern



The exam authority HRDG, CSIR conducts this exam to examine the aspirant’s brilliancy level in particular subject. Along with this CSIR also tests their general aptitude abilities.
CSIR NET JRF Paper is conducted in three parts i.e. Part A, Part B & Part C.


Part A – It is common for all subjects. It includes the MCQ type questions based on the topics such as General Science, Quantitative Reasoning & Analysis and Research Aptitude.


Part B – This part includes the subject related conventional MCQs type questions with less difficulty level.


Part C – This part contains the subject related questions with higher difficulty level to test the candidate’s scientific knowledge.



CSIR NET JRF Exam Dates

CSIR NET 2020 JRF Exam will be conducted in the second month of November 2020.


CSIR NET JRF Scholarship

After qualifying the CSIR NET JRF exam candidates are awarded with the scholarship for their researches.
These successful aspirants will receive the stipend of INR 31000 per month for the period of two years.
