UGC NET Economics Exam: A Complete Guide

UGC NET is a national level exam which is organized to examine the ability of aspirants required to become Lecturers/professors/ associates/ research fellows at India’s reputed universities.


# Eligibility Criteria for UGC NET Economics:


Before applying for any exam its better to know about the eligibility criteria of that. To get an idea about whether you are eligible or not for the exam.
 

Educational Qualification — 


You must have masters’ degree in Economics to appear for the UGC NET exam with minimum 55% aggregate marks if you belong to General category or minimum 50% aggregate marks if you are from OBC/SC/ST/PwD category.

Age Criteria — 


If you want to apply for Junior Research Fellowship then your age must not exceed 30 years.
OBC/SC/ST/PwD/Women candidates get 5 years’ age relaxation.
There are no age criteria for Assistant Professor candidates can appear for exam when they want.


# UGC NET Exam Pattern:


To get a good score in the exam you need to get complete knowledge about the exam pattern.
As per the latest pattern CBSE UGC NET exam is conducted in two papers i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2.


Paper 1 

 It is a common General Aptitude Test which consists questions based on Reasoning Ability, Comprehension Reading, Mental Ability, and General Awareness etc. It contains total 50 questions with weightage of 100 marks, all are compulsory. The duration of Paper 1 is one hour.


Paper 2 — 


It consists 100 MCQs type questions based on subjects each of 2 marks. The questions are based on the subject which selected by the candidate during the application form submission. The duration of Paper 2 is two hours.

There is no minus marking on any negative answer in both papers.
